Football card collecting is fun but knowing a card’s true condition is key. We grades cards based on centering, corners, edges, and surface to give a score from 1 to 10. This grading scale shows how well a card has been preserved and its collector value.
Cards graded 1 to 3 are considered rough, often showing damage like creases, stains, or tears. Grades 4 to 6 fall into fair condition, with visible wear such as small bends or scuffs.
A grade of 7 or 8 means the card is in good shape, with only minor flaws like light scratches. A 9 (Near Mint) is almost perfect, showing very small marks, while a 10 (Gem Mint or Flawless) represents a card that looks brand new with no visible issues.
That number basically defines whether a card falls into the good, bad, or ugly range and helps determine its overall value.
